Jose Almeida

Jose Almeida, 79, of Grinnell St., Fall River, died at home Monday, December 18, 2006. He was the husband of Maria S. (DeMelo) Almeida. Born in Fall River, the son of the late Jose Luciano Almeida and the late Margarida (Alves) Almeida, he lived in Fall River most of his life. A retired construction worker, he was a former member of the Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Health Parish. Besides his wife of 53 years, he leaves a daughter, Nancy Sousa and her husband Gabriel of Fall River; a sister, Mimi Alves of St. Michael, Azores; 3 brothers, Armando Luciano and Silveiro Almeida, both of Fall River and Alfredo Almeida of British Columbia, Canada; 3 granddaughters, Theresa, Julie and Amanda Sousa and nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Augusto Almeida. His funeral will be held Thursday at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Anne Church at 9:00 AM. Visitation, Wednesday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home.
