Jose R. Aguiar

Jose R. Aguiar, 63, of Slade St., Fall River, husband of Goretti (Gouveia) Aguiar, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010, following a courageous, three month battle with cancer. He was employed by Joan Fabrics, and Handy and Harman and was a Fall River Sports and Academica soccer player. Besides his wife of 36 years, he leaves 4 children, Paul Jorge Aguiar and his wife Sandy of Assonet and Steve Aguiar, Michael J. Aguiar and Sonya Sousa and her husband Sergio, all of Fall River; grandchildren, Elizabeth Sousa and Dean, Kyle and Samantha Aguiar; siblings, Manuel Aguiar of East Providence, and Eduarda and Joao Aguiar, both of the Azores. He was the son of the late Francisco and Belmira (Bento) Aguiar. His funeral will be held Friday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Good Shepherd Church at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
