Jonathan King, Sr., 60, of Fall River, died Monday, April 24, 2006 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He was the husband of Shirley (Marshall) King. Born in Browns, Alabama, the son of the late Thomas and Charlotte (Carson) King, he lived in Fall River for 34 years. He was employed as a truck driver and was previously a constable, notary public and a real estate agent. An Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War, he served as a security policeman, earning the rank of Sergeant. He was a recipient of The Air Force Commendation Medal, while assigned to the 632nd Security Police Squadron, Republic of Vietnam. He also served in the Army National Guard. He enjoyed fishing. Besides his wife of 36 years, he leaves 3 daughters, Deanna King and Sherry King, both of Tiverton, Cassandra King of Fall River, 3 sons, Jonathan King, Jr., Justin King and Martin King, all of Fall River, 2 brothers, Thomas King of Louisiana and Lester King of NY, 3 sisters, Charlotte King-Griffeth and Nabeehah Mahdi, both of Alabama and Marilyn King-Allen of Georgia, 6 grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Funeral Friday, April 28 at 10:30 from AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 S. Main St. Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Anne Church, S. Main St. at 11:30 AM Burial, Mass. National Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 4 to 8 PM.
