John J. Medeiros

John J. Medeiros 80,  a lifelong resident of Fall River, passed away on July 5th.  He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Maureen (Labecki) Medeiros.  John was the son of the late John C. and Amelia (Motta) Medeiros.

He leaves behind his son John and wife Karen of Somerset, MA and North Barnstead, NH; his son Charles and his wife Joy of Fall River, MA; and his daughter Lisa (Medeiros) Morano and her husband Sal of Corona, CA; and his grandchildren, Courtney Medeiros (Dan) of Rochester, MA; Danielle Medeiros (Matt) of North Kingstown, RI; Ryan Medeiros (Lauren) of Milford, CT;   Christopher Morano of Corona, CA; and Jaedena Morano of San Diego, CA.  His sister-in-law, Judi (Labecki) Robillard of Fall River,

He was predeceased by his two brothers, Richard Medeiros (wife Roni of Florida) and David Medeiros (wife Madeline of Florida) as well as his sister-in-law, Joyce Labecki, formerly of Fall River and his son Joseph.  He also leaves several nieces and nephews.

During his career he was a manager for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 25 years, and was very dedicated to custom service. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS MacDonough and Myles C Fox ships from 1960-1962.  He enjoyed spending time with family and his many hobbies.  He was an avid sports memorabilia collector and a loyal fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins and Celtics.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River and the dedicated staff of South Point Rehabilitation in Fall River for their efforts in caring for John through his illness.
