John J. Sullivan

John J. Sullivan, 83, of Swansea, died Friday, February 24, 2006 at Catholic Memorial Home, Fall River. He was the husband of Dorothy (Silva) Sullivan. Born in Fall River, the son of the late John J. and Jeannette (Corriveau) Sullivan, he lived in Swansea for most of his life. An army veteran and Pearl Harbor Survivor of WW II, he was a member of Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. He was employed by Electric Boat, Quonset Point, RI, having previously worked for Tower Iron Works, Seekonk. A member of the former Our Lady of Fatima Parish, now St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Swansea, he enjoyed stamp collecting. Besides his wife of 55 years, he is survived by 4 daughters, Shirley Potter of Cypress, TX, Kathy Sullivan of Green Harbor, MA, Peggy Levesque of Westport and Diane Sullivan of Swansea; 3 sons, John J. Sullivan and Michael Sullivan, both of Fall River and David Sullivan of Nolanville, TX; a sister, Rhea Lastoras of Virginia. 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Raymond, Roger and Robert Sullivan. His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:30 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardner's Neck Rd, Swansea at 10:30 AM. Burial, Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Calling hours, Monday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Donations may be made to Catholic Memorial Home, 2446 Highland Ave., Fall River MA 02720.
