John B. Souza

John B. Souza, 84, of Somerset, husband of the late Hilda M. (Couto) Souza and son of the late John B. and Maria Dos Anjos (Souza) Souza, died Wednesday, December 17, 2008. An Army veteran of WW II, he served in Italy, Belgium and France and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal for wounds suffered in the Normandy Invasion. He was employed by Duro Finishing Co. for 43 years. He leaves 2 sons, Thomas J. Souza and John A. "Andy" Souza, both of Somerset; 3 sisters, Dorothy Couto of Fall River and Frances Patten and Mary Jordan, both of Alabama and nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held Monday at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Espirito Santo Church at 9:00 AM. Burial, Newport Memorial Park, Middletown, RI. Visitation, Sunday 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Please omit flowers.
