John N. Shannon

John N. Shannon, 79, of Bay St., Fall River, husband of Lillian (Allaire) Shannon, died Tuesday, October 16, 2007. An Army veteran of WW II, he was a self-employed carpenter and painter and a former member of the Corky Row Club. Besides his wife of 58 years, he leaves, 11 children, John P. Shannon and his wife Christine, Richard Shannon and his wife Deborah, Matthew Shannon and his wife Kathleen and Paul Shannon and his wife Donna, all of Swansea, Donna Carney and her husband Patrick of Somerset, Dennis Shannon and his wife Sherrilyn and Deborah Valentine and her husband David all of Dartmouth, Michael Shannon and his wife Rebecca of Kentucky, Joseph Shannon and his wife Denise of Westport and Donald Shannon and Dorie Carvalho and her husband Michael, all of Fall River; 2 sisters, M. Arlene Reed and Sister Mary Agnes Shannon, OP., both of Fall River; 20 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held Thursday at 10: 30 AM in St. Mary Cathedral. Burial Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation and flowers omitted.
