John J. Majkut

John J. Majkut, 68, of Tiverton, RI, passed on Tuesday, March 23 peacefully with his family by his side after a long, courageous battle with AML, a form of Leukemia.. He was a man of love.compassion and the sea. He leaves behind his loving wife of 44 years, Mary Majkut, sons John and Stephen, mother Evelyn Majkut and brother, Tom. He had many joys in his life, including sailing, travelling, teaching, being a loving and supportive father, connecting with people of all walks of life, a HAM radio operator, but what brought him the most joy was being married to the love of his life, Mary Majkut, his "Lady in Red" " who he adored with all of his heart. His laugh, love, compassion, sense of humor and thirst for life will all be profoundly missed. John was the chairperson of the engineering department BCC, a professor of electronics. In his years of service, he recieved numerous awards, including:Keep America Working Award Sceptre and Scroll Award and others recognizing his dedication and excellence. He was a member of S.E.M.A.R.A. and the Tiverton Yacht Club. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. Cremation to follow.
