John F. Cox

John F. Cox, 87, of Tiverton, formerly of Fall River, husband of Evelyn (Supriano) Cox, entered into rest, Tuesday, January 5, 2016. A member of BMC Durfee High School, Class of 1947 and a Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Army Corps of Engineers, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Knights of Columbus. He was employed by H. P. Hood and Sons and Guimond Farms and then by the former Globe Manufacturing Co. for 34 years, retiring in 1990. He played CYO Sports in the late 1940's and was a baseball coach, manager and umpire with the Federal, Maplewood and St. Anne Little Leagues and a member of the Federal Little League Hall of Fame. He was a St. Anne Parish volunteer and Home & School Board member. Besides his wife of 60 years, he leaves three children, Catherine "Cathy" DeBlois (late husband Richard) of Tiverton, Nancy Ferreira (husband David) of Swansea and James Cox of Fall River; grandchildren, Amy Paull (husband David), Brian Ferreira, Jessica Goulet (husband Cory), Frank Ferreira, Samuel Cox and Abigail Cox; great-grandchildren, Kayla Mae Paull, Connor Paull, Macie Paull, Lillian Ouellette, Aubree Ferreira and Aiden and Mackenzie Goulet. He was the son of the late John F. and Blanche (Robidoux) Cox. His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 a.m. from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at St. Theresa Church, Tiverton at 10:00 a.m. Interment, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Large parking area & barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Warwick RI 02886.
