Joao P. Daponte

Joao P. DaPonte, 84, of Thomas St., Fall River, formerly of Bristol, RI, husband of the late Hortence (Pereira) DaPonte, died Friday, November 20, 2009. Born in Capelas, Sao Miguel, Azores, he enjoyed gardening and was employed by Pearson Yachts, Bristol. He leaves a sister, Mrs. Antonio (Maria) Costa of Fall River and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Francisco and Maria (Rodrigues) DaPonte and the brother of the late Jose and Augustine Rodrigues. His funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Immaculate Conception Church at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Sunday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
