Joanna R. (Burgo) Gonsalves

Joanna R. (Burgo) Gonsalves, 67, of New Bedford, wife of the late Edward Gonsalves, Jr., entered into rest Tuesday, August 23, 2016.

She was a member of Chapel of Mercy City of Joy, New Bedford.

She leaves six children, Ramon Lopez, Roxan Lopez, Toni Lopez, Micole Baptiste, Wanda Baptiste and Megan Reeves;14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings,
Rose Bramwell, Matilda Lopes, Brenda Morris, Joyce Aguiar, Antone Mello, Manuel "Richard" Reiniche, Joseph Garcia, Alan Garcia and Dennis Garcia, and many nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Alfred Burgo and Matilda (Freitas) Garcia; the "daughter" of the late Benjamin Garcia and the sister of the late Domingos "Mickey" Mello.

Her funeral service will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. Large parking area & barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home. Interment, Pine Grove Cemetery, 1100 Ashley Boulevard, New Bedford.
