Joana (Branco) Cordeiro

Joana (Branco) Cordeiro, 70, of Rhode Island Ave., Fall River, wife of Gabriel S. Cordeiro, entered into rest Wednesday, December 16, 2015. A former employee of Beacon Garment Mfg. and Pediatrics Associates, she loved to cook and bake and spending time with her family and beloved buddies "Lucky", "Roxy", "Bean", "Twiggy", "Smokey", "Abel", "Danika" and "Troubles". Besides her husband of 46 years, she leaves three children, Nancy Cosme and her husband David, Gabriel "Gabe" Cordeiro, Jr. and Lucy Delemos and her husband Marcos, all of Fall River; grandchildren, Richard Elton "Ricky" Souza, Jr. and Ashley Souza; a great-grandson, Landyn Gabriel Souza; siblings, and John Branco of Fall River and Lionel Branco of New Bedford; godchildren, Margarida Branco of Canada, Paul Travassos of Portugal and Octavio Sousa; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Born in Fenais da Luz, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria de Nascimento (Bandarra) Branco and the sister of the late Maria Odilia Sousa, Rosa Travassos, Maria Fatima Cordeiro and Antonio, Jose, Mariano, Honorato and Manuel Branco. Her funeral will be held Saturday at 7:30 a.m. from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at Santo Christo Church at 8:30 a.m. Interment, St. Patrick Cemetery. Visitation, Friday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Large parking area & barrier-free entrance at rear of funeral home.
