Joan A. "Joanie" (Beben) Stys, 65, of Lakeside Ave., No. Dartmouth, formerly of Brayton Ave., Fall River, wife of Thaddeus J. "Ted" Stys, died Monday, March 1, 2010. A hairstylist, she, with her sister, operated Beben Sisters Beauty Salon, Fall River and was later employed by Short Cuts Hair Designers, Dartmouth. She enjoyed gardening and crafts and cherished time spent with her family. Besides her husband of 42 years, she leaves 2 sons, Gary Allen Stys of Maitland, FL and Glenn W. Stys of Dartmouth; a granddaughter, Kaili Stys of Dartmouth; siblings, Stephen J. Beben (wife Pauline) of Westport, Irene Souza (husband late Frank) and Roger A. Beben (wife Eleanor) of Fall River and Robert R. Beben (wife Ann Marie) of Somerset; nieces; nephews; a sister-in-law, Sophie T. Golen (husband late Frank). She was the daughter of the late Stephen and Stella (Makuch) Beben. Visitation Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River.
