Joan Marie (Vanasse) Rioux

Joan Marie (Vanasse) Rioux, 63, of Ridge St., Fall River, died Friday, March 12, 2010, following a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. "Grandma Joan" was employed by the Fall River Housing Authority, Shelburne Shirt Co., F & B Jewelry and Globe Assembly and enjoyed spending time with family. She was the mother of Nancy J. Rioux, Sandra L. Rioux and Joan M. Rioux, all of Fall River; the grandmother of Amanda, David and Mason Rioux, Kayla Longstone and the late Brian Rioux; the great-grandmother of Jordan and Max Rioux, Skylah Correia and Jason DaSilva; the sister of Thomas Vanasse of Fall River, Maureen Crowley of New London, CT, Pauline Leach of Blue Hill, ME and the late Jackie and Ronald Vanasse and niece of the late Thomas C. McConnon; the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary F. (McConnon) Vanasse; and the former wife of Paul R. Rioux of Fall River. She also leaves nieces and nephews and her friends from Rite Aid. Her funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Anne Church at 10:00 AM. Burial, St. Patrick Cemetery. Visitation, Sunday 3:00 to 7:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Please omit flowers.
