Joan Libucha

Joan Libucha, 69, of Fall River, widow of Domenic DiMeglio and daughter of the late John and Ann (Slaby) Libucha, died Saturday, March 22, 2014. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Newton College of the Sacred Heart and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Rhode Island College. A member of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary from 1962 to 1977, she taught at Espirito Santo School. She was later a Title One Teacher in various schools within the city for 32 years. She was also a part-time nurse at Rhode Island Hospital for 27 years. She was a member of the St. Stanislaus Parish Choir. She leaves a brother, Edward Libucha and his wife Madeleine of Williamsburg, VA; a niece Karen Kouagow, her husband Alphonse and their daughter Mireille of Annandale, VA; her cousin Margaret Shea of Fall River MA and other cousins, longtime friends Patricia Cortes of Cotuit, MA and Geraldine Chase of Weymouth, MA. She is also survived by her beloved cat Sophie. Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 11:30 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River with a funeral mass at St. Stanislaus Church at 12:30 PM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Monday 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
