Joan (Porada) Bonalewicz

Joan (Porada) Bonalewicz, 91, of Chapin St., Fall River, widow of Matthew Bonalewicz, died Saturday, February 19, 2011. She was employed by A & P Supermarkets and was a teacher's aide at Henry Lord Middle School. She was a St. Patrick Parish Soup Kitchen volunteer and a member of St. Patrick Parish most of her life. She leaves children, Lt. Col. Dr. Richard M. Bonalewicz, USAF, Ret. and his wife Marcia of North East, PA, SMSgt. Mathew A. Bonalewicz, USAF, Ret. and his wife CMSgt. Connie Bonalewicz, USAF, Ret. of Hampton, VA; Bob W. Bonalewicz of Fall River, Kathleen August and her husband James of Las Vegas, NV, and Marianne Bonalewicz of Fall River; her "adopted daughter", Cathy Chahanovich of Altus, OK; grandchildren, Stephanie and Bobby J. Bonalewicz, Lisa Jabbour, Donna and Rachel Bonalewicz, Julie Carpenter, Joanna, Kristal and Carrie Bonalewicz, Aaron and Chris Nesbitt Bonalewicz, and Dawn August; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and her grand-dogs "Lily and "Samie". She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Catherine (Strach) Porada, and the sister of the late Walter Porada and Estelle Mankut. Her funeral will be held Friday at 8:45 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. George Church, Westport, at 10:00 AM. Burial, Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River. Visitation, Thursday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Please omit flowers.
