Jerome L. Bryan, Sr., 65, of Fall River, husband of Wanda (Simpkins) Bryan, entered peacefully into rest on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at his home surrounded by his wife and daughter. Born in Newport, Rhode Island, the son of the late Clifford E. and Jennie L. (Carter) Bryan, he lived in Fall River for most of his life.
He was employed by Bristol Knit and Northeast Knitting Mills as a CNC Machine operator.
He was also employed by American Dryer Corp. and later became a Lead Resident Counselor at St. Vincent's Home for Children in Fall River. Mr. Bryan was an avid boxing fan and former competitor, often frequenting the Bank St. Armory and Police Athletic League with his brother Bobo.
Later in life, Jerome made the spiritual decision to dedicate his life to the Lord, Jesus Christ. He attended Community Baptist Church for Sunday services and attended Friday night prayer service with his daughter, furthering his relationship with his Lord and Savoir.
Besides his wife of 16 years, Wanda, he leaves four children, Jamerson Bryon of Somerset, Jerome Bryan, Jr. (wife Melissa Bryan) of Fall River, Clarissa Bryan of Fall River and Felicia Bryan of Fall River; two sisters, Edna Wells of Newport, RI and Sandra Lecomte of Fall River, many grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Alexis R. Bryan and the brother of the late Clifford Bryan Jr., Anna Bryan, Martha Gelmette, Robert Bryan and Kenneth G. Bryan.
His visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a funeral service during the visitation at 6:00 p.m. in Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River, MA.
