Jeannette "Jean" (Gladu) Chaunt

Jeannette "Jean" (Gladu) Chaunt, 76, of Hilton Ave., Somerset, wife of Normand J. Chaunt, died Friday, September 19, 2014. She worked in the garment industry for many years and was employed by Vanson Leather, Fall River and Raytheon Company, Portsmouth. She also taught ceramics and was a member of the National Association of Independent Artists. She was treated at Boston University Medical Center and Hudner Oncology. Besides her husband of 55 years, she leaves two children, David J. "Chester" Chaunt and his wife Marcia of Somerset and Susan M. Moore and her husband Rodney of New Bedford; grandchildren, Julie Chaunt and Dylan Moore; a great-grandson, Jacob Chaunt; a sister, Irene M. Petisca of Fall River and three nieces. She was the grandmother of the late Adam Chaunt and the daughter of the late John and Belmira (Pacheco) Gladu. Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:45 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Swansea at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
