Jeanne Dumont, 86, a beloved professional hairstylist and cherished member of the Fall River community, passed away on December 15, 2024. Born on January 11, 1938, in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Normand and Therese (Ouellette) Clement.
Jeanne was the former wife of the late Roland A. Dumont and the companion of the late John "Jack" Harrington.
A graduate of Jesus Mary Academy, Jeanne began her career in beauty at Estelle's Beauty Salon, where her passion for hairstyling quickly flourished. With dedication and an unwavering spirit, she eventually became the owner, turning her profession into a legacy that would touch the lives of countless clients. She not only shaped hair but also uplifted hearts with her genuine warmth and inviting smile.
Jeanne's heart extended beyond her career; she was also a fierce advocate for health and wellness in her community. As an active supporter and volunteer of the Get Moving Walk in support of Saint Anne's Hospital Oncology, she embodied strength and resilience, raising awareness and funds for important causes while inspiring others to join her in her commitment to making a difference.
Her family, which includes her children Michelle A. Vezina, (husband Michael) of Fall River, Cheryl J. Dumont of Bristol, RI, and Mark N. Dumont (wife Jill) of Westport; She found happiness in the energetic laughter of her grandchildren — Daniel Vezina, Julie Goyette (husband Corey), Colby Klein (husband Matthew) Molly Nunes (husband Ross) and Allie Midwood (husband Zachary) — and her great-grandchildren Owen, Ella, Oliver, Norah, Amelia, and Zoey. Each moment spent with them was a treasure for Jeanne, filling her heart with love and joy. Jeanne is also survived by her sister Lucille Vanasse.
Though her heart grieved the loss of her dear sisters, Edna Bielawa and Therese Bissinger, along with her cherished black poodle, Nikie, Jeanne's spirit remained bright.
Her laughter, wisdom, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her, especially by her relatives and a host of nieces and nephews who carried a deep affection for their aunt.
