Jean D. (Jolly) Michaud

Jean D. "Momma Dukes" (Jolly) Michaud, 71, of Fall River, entered into rest at home peacefully, Sunday, August 28, 2016, in the loving arms of her son Michael and her son-in-law Matthew, Michael's lifetime partner, also surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Fall River, August 9, 1945, she was the daughter of the late George and Jeannette (Guilemette) Jolly.

She was a 1961 graduate of BMC Durfee High School and studied psychology at BCC, receiving her associates degree. She then ventured into nursing as a nurses aid at Charlton Memorial Hospital for 8 years in stroke rehabilitation. Jean loved helping people and was an advocate for NA/AA in local area and the surrounding prisons for a duration of 10 years and worked occasionally with city counselor Pat Casey on housing issues. Jean loved her cat midnight and through the years her Shih Tzus and loved being around her family and friends that were so good to her at the Academy Building.

She is survived by her loving son Michael W. Michaud and his lifetime partner Matthew C. Gagne of Fall River and a daughter Janet E. Augusto and her husband Keith of Las Vegas, NV; grandson, Joshua Owen; a great-grandson, Jacob both of Fall River; a brother, Peter Olsen and his wife Constance of Flagstaff AZ; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Bob Jolly of Palm Desert CA. Jean loved her personal care attendants, the Late Debra Sherman of Fall River, Eric Rousell and Lori Souza. Much thanks to her Doctor, Dr. Diane Patrick for all the good that she did to keep my mom alive until God took her and also much thanks to the Southcoast VNA and the Hospice Care Team.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at St. Mary Cathedral at 10:00 a.m.

Visitation, Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Large parking area & barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home.
