Jean Roger Blanchette

Jean Roger Blanchette, 75, of 1685 Pleasant St., Fall River, formerly of Westport, husband of the late Florence (Bois) Blanchette, died Saturday, November 24, 2007. The son of the late John and Elmira (Fontaine) Blanchette, he lived in Fall River most of his life and in Westport for 28 years. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was employed by Quaker Fabrics for 30 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of Notre Dame Parish and a former member and active volunteer of Our Lady of Grace Parish, Westport. He leaves a daughter, Eileen Fontaine and her husband Herbert of Westport; grandchildren, Hiedi Giotis Pereira, Kimberly Goodwin and Herbert Fontaine, III; great-grandchildren, Nickolas and Nathan Giotis and Vanessa Pereira; siblings, Maurice Blanchette of Fall River, Lucien Blanchette of Westport, Girard Blanchette of Brockton and Lucienne Mulvihill of Chicago; a dear friend, Lorraine Mello and nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Notre Dame Church at 9:00 AM. Burial, Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visitation, Monday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA & BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
