Janice (Borden) Buffington

Janice F. (Borden) Buffington, of Somerset, widow of Roger B. Buffington, died Wednesday, December 21, 2016.

Active in local cultural organizations, she was a Charter Director and president of the Greater Fall River Art Assn., charter member and Director of Arts Unlimited and Director of the former Fall River Arts Council. She was Director of the Fall River Education Council and former member of the Provincetown Art Assn., Executive Direct of the Fall River Festival and festivals held at North and Kennedy parks in the 60's.

She is survived by three sons, Richard B. Buffington of Somerset, Peter D. Buffington of Portsmouth, RI and Mark C. Buffington of Houma, LA, 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Deborah Buffington and Jay H. Buffington, the sister of the late Dorothy L. Stafford and the daughter of the late Raymond F. Borden and Mildred B. (Nichols) Borden-Harvell.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery.
