James "Jimmy Kanaka" Cordeiro

James "Jimmy Kanaka" Cordeiro, 73, husband of almost 52 years to Diane R. (Webster) Cordeiro, of Somerset, died on Sunday, April 10, 2016. A retired heavy equipment operator employed by the Town of Somerset Highway Dept., he previously worked for Reed and Barton, Taunton. He was the father of James "Jimmy" Cordeiro (wife Arline) of Westport, David Cordeiro of Rome, GA, Jeffrey "Jeff" Cordeiro of Somerset and Donald Cordeiro (wife Paula) of Fall River; vovo of Michaela Cote (husband John) and Sarah, Kacey, Philip and Dylan Cordeiro and the late Sophia and Rachael Cordeiro; great-grandfather of Logan Wordell and Harper Cote; brother of Alice Medeiros, Mary Lou Botelho, Catherine Camara, Constance Lewis, Daniel Ferreira and the late Hilda Stevens, Anne Medeiros, Laura Souza, Gilda Silvia, Evangeline Cordeiro, Mary Pacheco, Lena Luiz, Charles, Joseph and John Ferreira, Joseph and Daniel Cordeiro and son of the late Manuel Cordeiro and Maria (Ferreira) Ferreira-Cordeiro, uncle to many nieces and nephews. We wish to thank the Nurse's Station 3 in ICU,CMH and especially Daniel Sousa, MD for the exceptional care and compassion received.
