James Albany

James Albany, 88, formerly of Deer St., Somerset, husband of the late Mary (Panaretos) Albany, died Tuesday, April 5, 2011. A Navy Seabees veteran of WW II, he was the owner of the former Star Lunch, Fall River and was employed by the former Fay's Grill, Fall River, the Newport Naval Base cafeteria and Independence Harbor, Assonet. He was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. He leaves three children, Robert Albany and his wife Karen of Westport, MA, Janice Rapoza of Sausalito, CA and Peter Albany and his wife Sue Ann of Groton, MA; two grandsons, Michael and Matthew Albany; and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Spiros and Anna (Proyous) Albany; and the brother of the late Agnes Lavallee, Helen Aronis and Anastasia Aronis. Following cremation, a visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River.
