Irene M. (Medeiros) Howance, 82, of Lapham St., Fall River, wife of Antone Howance, died Thursday, January 29, 2009.
She worked in the garment industry and was a member of ILGWU, now UNITE for over 40 years.
Besides her husband of 60 years, she leaves a son, Steven Howance of Taunton and nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late John and Elsie (Belanger) Medeiros and the sister of the late Blanche Texeira, Arthur Belanger and John and Frank Medeiros.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Holy Cross Church of Saints Peter and Paul Parish, at 9:00 AM. Cremation to follow.
Visitation, Sunday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. PLEASE OMIT FLOWERS. Donations to American Heart Assn., 20 Speen St., Framingham MA 01701 would be appreciated.
