Irene (Borges) Borges, 88, of Fall River, widow of George M. Borges, died Thursday, March 3, 2011. The daughter of the late John and Helen (Valentine) Borges, she was a riveter with the Firestone Co. during WW II and then worked in the garment industry. She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed her pets, "Snoopy and "Jezebel", her grand dog, "Grand Schlager Bear", cooking, crocheting, Country Western dancing, and TV game shows. She leaves, 4 children, Linda Martins and her husband Thomas of Westport, MA, Helene E. (Borges) Borges and her husband Todd of Harwich, MA, George M. Borges and his wife Linda of Somerset, and Scott F. Borges and his wife Cynthia of Fall River; grandchildren, Thomas Martins (fiancée Tara Chouinard), Chris Martins (wife Tabitha), Melanie Medeiros (husband Gary), and Emily Rose Borges; great-grandchildren, Jordan, David, Ethan, Evan, Thomas, Aidan, and Lily Rose; a brother, Frank Borges of Fall River; and nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Mamie Ferreira, Cecilia Costa, Emily Gingras, and John Borges. Her funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Good Shepherd Church at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Sunday 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
