Imelda B. (Gauthier) Benoit

Imelda B. (Gauthier) Benoit, 87, of Borden Place East, Fall River, wife of the late Leo Benoit, entered into rest Wednesday, October 5, 2016.

A lifelong resident of Fall River, Imelda had been employed by the former Fall River Knitting Mills before retirement and enjoyed crocheting and knitting as well as her family and daily interaction with her many friends at Borden Place East and throughout Fall River.

Imelda leaves two children: Jeffrey Benoit of Long Beach, CA and Jean (Benoit) Sylvia and her husband, Paul Sylvia of Gainesville, FL; grandchildren: Melissa Sylvia, Renee Sylvia, Harley Benoit and Iris Benoit; siblings: Emile Gauthier, Emma Silvia and Armand Gauthier. Imelda was the daughter of the late Alexandre and Anna (Fluet) Gauthier and the sister of the late Rolande Lenhoff, Regina Dupont, Doris Brilliant, Gerard and Adrien Gauthier.

Imelda's funeral will be held Tuesday, October 18 at 10:00 a.m. from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at Holy Trinity Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow Mass at Newport Memorial Park, 123 Howland Avenue, Middletown, RI, 02842.

Visitation Tuesday morning prior to the funeral from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Large parking area & barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home.
