Humberto R. Tavares

Humberto R. Tavares, 88, of Forest St., Fall River, husband of Maria Luisa (Carreiro) Tavares, died Thursday, November 27, 2014. A former employee of Aluminum Processing and a member of Ateneu Luso Americano, he enjoyed soccer and music. Besides his wife of 62 years, he leaves four children, Maria A. Borges of Fall River, Gustavo Tavares and his wife Margaret of Assonet, Mary Lou Pacheco and her husband Luis of Westport and Edward Tavares and his wife Paula of Riverside, RI; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Renato "Ronnie" and Manuel Francisco Tavares, both of Fall River and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Francisco R. and Jesuina (Carmo-Furtado) Tavares and the brother of the late Mario, Oliverio and Durval Tavares. His funeral will be held Monday at 9:30 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at Santo Christo Church at 10:30 AM. Burial, St. Patrick Cemetery. Visitation, Sunday 5:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA & BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
