Hortence "Teny" (Pontes) Berube

Hortence "Teny" (Pontes) Berube, 95, of Fall River, formerly of Assonet, wife of the late Henry Berube, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017 at St. Patrick's Manor, Framingham.

She was employed by Anderson Little for 41 years and also by the Portuguese Alliance and the Fall River School Lunch Program.

A Marian Medal recipient and devoted communicant of St. Mary Cathedral Parish and Sacred Heart Parish, she was a member of the Sacred Heart Senior Citizens Club, Borden Place West Senior Citizens Club, the Somerset Senior Chorus and the Amalgamated Garment Workers Union, now UNITE.

She leaves a sister, Georgiana Veloza of Swansea and many nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Antone and Mary (Rego) Pontes and the sister of the late Alexandrina Botelho, Mary Farias, Deolinda Moniz, Irene Medeiros and Manuel, Joseph, Augustine and Johnny Pontes.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Cathedral. Interment, Notre Dame Cemetery.

Visitation and flowers omitted. Donations may be made to St. Patrick's Manor, 863 Central St., Framingham MA 01701. Her family would like to thank the Staff at Landmark Senior Living of Fall River and the Staff at St. Patrick's Manor for the exceptional care she received.
