Honora Rose "Nora" (Pruchnik) Piekos

Honora Rose (Pruchnik) Piekos, 94, of Baker St., Fall River, widow of John Piekos, died Thursday, June 16, 2011. A communicant of Holy Cross Church of Saints Peter and Paul Parish, and Holy Rosary Society member, "Nora" received the Marian Medal in 1987. She was a Holy Cross Parish volunteer and dedicated cook, preparing the Polish food for many years. A member of ILGWU, now UNITE, she was employed by Cambridge Sewing Co. She attended Flint Senior Center, where she had many friends. She leaves her sister-in-law, Felicia Pruchnik of Somerset; her godson, Adrian Dauphin and his wife Joan Dowling-Dauphin of Fall River; nieces, Christine Steen of Richardson, TX, Eileen Haley of Wareham, MA and Katherine Thompson of Marion, MA; nephews, Peter Dauphin of Tiverton, Peter Pruchnik of Florida, and Frank Pruchnik of Rochester, MA. She was the daughter of the late John Pruchnik and Katherine (Patela) Schimil Pruchnik; and the sister of the late Bolis Schimil, Peter and Stanley Pruchnik, Victoria Forgette and Mary Dauphin. Her funeral will be held Saturday at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Holy Cross Church of Saints Peter and Paul Parish at 9:00 AM. Burial, St. Patrick Cemetery. Visitation, Saturday morning prior to the funeral from 8:00 to 8:30 AM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southcoast Hospice, 200 Mill Rd., Fairhaven MA 02719.
