Honora E. (Powers) Coyne

Honora E. (Powers) Coyne, 93, of Fall River, wife of the late Fall River Veterans Service Officer James W. Coyne, Sr., died Sunday, June 1, 2014. She owned and operated Powers Insurance Agency for many years and was a member of St. Anne's Fellowship and past-president of St. Mary Cathedral Parish Women's Guild. She leaves two children, Honora M. "Nona" Coyne of Fall River and James W. Coyne, Jr. (late wife Janet) of Westport; grandchildren, Laurie Fernandes (husband Jeffrey), Derek Coyne (wife Sabine), Stacy Leger (late husband David Leger - beloved companion James Gomes), Alicia Medeiros (husband John) and Betheny Borges (husband David); great-grandchildren, Michael Fernandes (Jenna Chabot), and Lindsey, Tanner and Nicholas Fernandes, Dylan and Luke Medeiros, Landon Leger, Matthew and Ryan Borges and Halle, Ciara and Nia Coyne; a great-great-granddaughter, Hailey Fernandes and nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Peter W. and Margaret A. (Powers) Powers and the sister of the late Peter, Thomas, James, George and John Powers. Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at St. Mary Cathedral at 10:00 AM. Burial, St. Patrick Cemetery. Visitation, Tuesday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
