Herbert J. Quinlan, FRFD, Ret., 93, of Fall River, husband of the late Eleanore (Moquin) Quinlan, died Monday, April 7, 2014.
A Navy veteran of WW II, he was a member of the Fall River Fire Department for 30 years and was also employed by the former Corcoran Plumbing Supply. He enjoyed woodworking and making clocks and was a committee member of the Saints Peter and Paul Parish, troop 17, Boy Scouts of America for many years.
He leaves seven children, Donna Pacheco (Robert) and Barbara Ray (William), all of Fall River, Joyce Ducharme (Richard Sears) of Swansea, Thomas J. Quinlan (Anne Marie) of Fall River, Steven Quinlan (Jeanne) of Berkley, Debra Nichols of Fall River and Colleen McAuley of Bristol,. RI; fourteen grandchildren including his caregivers Kristin Ray and William Ray; sixteen great-grandchildren including his caregivers Zachary Ray and Rebecca Ray; a great-great-grandson and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Herbert and Mae (Gifford) Quinlan and the brother of the late Donald Quinlan.
His funeral will be held Monday at 8:45 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at St. Theresa Church, Tiverton at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery.
