Henry J. Yokel, 82, of Barnes St., Fall River, husband of Yvette E. (Roy) Yokel, died Sunday, May 10, 2009.
An Army veteran of WW II, he was foreman of the Fall River Public Works Dept. incinerator and also employed by Interstate Venetian Blinds. He was past-president of the Fall River Independent Municipal Employees Union and a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Tiverton.
Besides his wife of 60 years, he leaves a daughter, Ann Marie Branco and her husband Gil of Fall River; grandchildren, Loriann Lajoie (husband Chris), Stephanie Nowacki (husband Quentin), Sherrie Branco and Rodney Santos and Eric Santos; great-grandchildren Lorraine Santos, Kayla and Kory Lajoie, Nathan and Owen Nowacki and Joshua Mello; brothers, Romeo Yokell and Napoleon " Paul" Yokel, both of Fall River and nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Lorraine Santos; the son of the late Louis and Marie Louise (Lanoue) Yokel and the brother of the late Arthur Yokel, Armand Yokel, Azilda Posey, Florida Bastille and Marie Ange Cabral.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Notre Dame Church at 10:00 AM. Entombment, Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.
Visitation, Wednesday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Donations to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham MA 01701 would be appreciated.
