Henry Mercier

Henry "Hank" Mercier, 86, of Westport, husband of Claire R. (Peloquin) Mercier, passed away from this life into the embrace of God, Wednesday, May 23, 2018.

A Msgr. Prevost HS graduate and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he was employed by Stop & Shop Supermarkets for over 40 years and was a member of the Dover Club and Association Canado Americaine.

Besides his wife of 61 years, he leaves four children, Pamela Talbot of Oceanside, CA, Steve Mercier and his wife Jennifer of Dartmouth and Peter Mercier and Paul Mercier, both of Westport; granddaughters, Andrea (Talbot) Toledo and her husband Mark of Long Beach, CA and Stephanie (Talbot) Brizeno and her husband Nick of Vista, CA; great-grandsons, Dominic and Colin Toledo; a sister,Theresa Marcoux and her husband Leo of Fall River; brother-in-law Robert Peloquin and his wife Dorothy of Michigan and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the son of the late Leonard and Lucienne (Simoneau) Mercier and the brother of the late Eveline Gagnon and Leopold, Patrick, Arthur, Robert, Normand and Roger Mercier.

His funeral will be held Saturday at 8:00 AM from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral Mass at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 9:00 AM. Interment, Notre Dame Cemetery.

Visitation, Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to National Kidney Foundation, 209 W Central St, Natick, MA 01760 or Diabetes Association, 4 So. Main St., Fall River MA 02721.
