obituary: HELEN F. WHEELOCK w/e-mail photo Helen F. (Newberry) Wheelock, 83, of Thibault Lane, Tiverton, died Monday, September 12, 2005 at Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River. She was the wife of Wesley B. "Wes" Wheelock, Sr. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late George and Helen "Nellie" (Lyden) Newberry, she lived in Tiverton most of her life. A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, class of 1940, she was employed in her family businesses F. N. Wheelock and Sons and Fall River Coin Operated Car Washes for many years. She was a charter member of the Fall River Carousel Lions Club and a member of the Fall River Emblem Club and The Friends of Saint Anne's Hospital. Besides her husband of 62 years, survivors include her daughter-in-law Nancy (Ferris) Wheelock of Tiverton; 2 grandsons, Wesley B. Wheelock, III and Sean M. Wheelock and nephews and nieces including Carol (Harrah) Vadeboncoeur. She was the mother of the late Wesley B. Wheelock, II and the sister of the late George and John Newberry and Doris "Dot" Harrah. Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9:00 a.m. from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River with a funeral mass in St. Theresa Church, Tiverton at 10:00. Burial, Pocasset Hill Cemetery, Tiverton. Calling hours Wednesday 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. LARGE PARKING AREA and barrier-free entrance to the rear of funeral home. Donations may be made to Lions Club, PO Box 1945, Fall River MA 02722.
