Hector A. LaPointe, 84, of Swansea, formerly of Fall River, husband of the late Colette (Brault) LaPointe, brother of Claire L. Carty of Swansea and son of the late Hector and Regina (Benjamin) LaPointe, died Saturday, May 4, 2013. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a 35 year employee of New England Telephone and Telegraph Co. He was past-commander of Post 5, Franco American War Veterans, a member of Post 464 American Legion, former member of St. Vincent de Paul Society, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Swansea, a member of the Holy Name Society of the former Notre Dame Parish, past president of the Allegro Glee Club, a member of Club Richelieu, past treasurer of L'Association Francophone, life member of the Franco American Genealogical Society, former treasurer and board member of Notre Dame Credit Union, former member of the Massachusetts State Guard and former member of the National Guard. His funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Bernadette Church at 9:00 AM. Entombment, Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation, Tuesday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
