Gregory S. Melanson, 51, of Westport died Sunday, September 17, 2006 at Grace Barker Nursing Center, Warren, R.I. due to injuries sustained 29 years ago in a December 22, 1977 automobile accident in Tiverton.
He was the husband of the late Diane (Fontaine) Melanson.
Born in Fall River, the son of Muriel A. (Joyce) Melanson of Westport and the late Maurice J. Melanson, he lived in Westport for many years.
A class of 1974 graduate of the Diman Regional Vocational High School Culinary Arts Program, he was a chef in the Army and employed by the former Stone Bridge Inn, Tiverton.
Besides his mother, he is survived by 2 sisters, Denise Martins and her husband Edward of Westport and Susan Beck and her husband Michael of Acushnet
and nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10:00 AM.
Entombment, Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.
Visitation, Tuesday 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
