Gregory F. Furtado, 61, of Tiverton, husband of Kathy J. (Bolduc) Furtado, entered into rest Monday, September 28, 2015. An educator, he was a graduate of Tiverton High School and Roger Williams University and studied for a Masters Degree at Bridgewater State College. He taught at the Westport Middle School, retired after more than 30 years at the Tiverton Middle School and was presently teaching at Espirito Santo School, Fall River. He enjoyed traveling to Key West and Montana, was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed golf, participating in weekly leagues at the Wampanoag and Swansea Country Clubs. Besides his wife of 31 years, he leaves two children, Meredith and Neil Furtado, both of Tiverton; siblings, Claudia Thibault, Karen Bouchard, Bridget Jordan, Joan Almeida, Karl Furtado, Donald, Peter, Joseph and Christopher Fernandes; and nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Patricia Proulx and Maureen Rouleau; the son of the late Frank Furtado and Anna (Julio) Fernandes and the stepson of the late Donald Fernandes. His funeral will be held Friday at 9:00 a.m. from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at St. Theresa Church, Tiverton at 10:00 a.m. Interment, Hillside Cemetery, Tiverton. Visitation, Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Large parking area & barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home. Please omit flowers.
