Gilbert Fred Stansfield

Gilbert Fred Stansfield, 87, of Swansea, husband of the late Sheila Jean (Murphy) Stansfield, passed away Monday, November 28, 2022.

He was employed as an electrician and was a member of IBEW Local 233.

Gil was a graduate of Somerset High School.

Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Thomas and Gladys (Wilkinson) Stansfield.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

He leaves three children, David Stansfield of Fall River, Elizabeth Cardin (husband Marc) and their sons Andrew and Nicholas of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Gilbert Stansfield (wife Candace) and their sons Aodhan, Thaire and Eoin of Dighton; a sister, Mary Beth Stansfield; nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Thomas Stansfield (wife Betty) and Tommy Stansfield.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation which will be held  Friday, December 2,  from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River  with Military Honors and a funeral service in the funeral home at  5:00 PM .

Burial at Mount Hope Cemetery will be private.
