Gilbert P. Lemaire

Gilbert P. Lemaire, 93, of Fall River, husband of the late Theresa M. (LeComte) Lemaire, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018.

A member of the BMC Durfee High School, Class of 1942 and an Army veteran of WW II, serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, he was a longtime employee of the Fall River Herald News and a member of the Communications Workers of America Typographical Union and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Father Boehr Council, Tiverton and the Montaup Country Club.

He leaves five children, Paul Lemaire and his wife Karen Fitzpatrick of Hudson, NH, Robert Lemaire and his wife Judi of Wolfeboro, NH, Gilbert M. Lemaire of Nashua, NH, Louise Simonds and her husband Andrew of Newburyport, MA, and Claire Kenyon and her husband Stephen of East Freetown, MA; eight grandchildren, Leon Lemaire (wife Claudia), Max Lemaire, Jeffrey Lemaire (wife Meara), Stephen Lemaire, Amy Lemaire, Marc Lemaire (wife Jenn), Karen Hooper (husband Roger)
and Kyle Lemaire (wife Brooke); seven great-grandchildren, Gene, Iris, Koru, Henry, Luc, Sidney and Logan; and nieces and nephews.

Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Arthur and Lucie (Thibault) Lemaire and the brother of the late Corinne Demers, Pauline Cousineau, Andre Lemaire, Denis Lemaire and Brother Armand Lemaire, A.A.

His funeral will be held Monday at 10:30 AM from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at Holy Trinity Church at 11:30 AM. Interment, Notre Dame Cemetery.

Visitation, Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Heart Assn., 300 Fifth Ave., Waltham MA 02451.
