Her Memorial Funeral Mass will be held SATURDAY, MAY 31 AT 10:00 AM AT ST. THOMAS MORE CHURCH, SOMERSET. Gertrude M. O'Neil, 78, of Somerset, a teacher of the French Language at Somerset High School for many years, died Monday, December 30, 2013. A graduate of Dominican Academy, Fall River and Albertus Magnus College, New Haven, CT, she earned her Master's Degree from Boston College, and continued her studies at Middlebury College, Middlebury, VT and Sorbonne University, Paris, France. She was a lover of animals and her belief in the words of St. Francis of Assisi "For it is in giving that we receive." was evident in the way she treated her loving family and friends. Gertrude was an active member of St. Thomas More Parish, Somerset and previously a longtime member of the former St. Louis Parish, Fall River. She was the sister of William "Emmett" O'Neil (late wife Jacqueline Bienvenue O'Neil) of Somerset and the late Thomas David "Red" O'Neil (wife Barbara Lizak O'Neil of Swansea); the aunt of Brian, Lisa and Michael O'Neil and the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Frawley) O'Neil. Her Memorial Funeral Mass will be held SATURDAY, MAY 31 AT 10:00 AM AT ST. THOMAS MORE CHURCH, SOMERSET.
