Gertrude (Baragry) King, 80, of Fall River, wife of the late John W. King, passed away Friday, April 16, 2021, at the Kimwell Nursing Home in Fall River, Massachusetts.
Mrs. King was the daughter of the late William and Gertrude (McGreal) Baragry of Tipperary, Ireland. Born, raised, and educated in Ireland, she emigrated to the United States in 1967.
Mrs. King worked as an administrative assistant in various positions, most notably at Boston City Hall during the Kevin White administration.
Know to her friends and family as Gaye, she had a sharp wit and held friends and family dear. She was an avid reader and NYT crossword puzzle enthusiast and kept up a lifelong habit of daily, brisk walks, particularly along the ocean shore.
Mrs. King leaves behind her brother, Tom Baragry of Tipperary, Ireland; her beloved mother-in-law, Eloise King of Pennsylvania; her brother-in-law, Ron Brown of Kingston NH; her nieces, Deirdre Semiglia of Chelsea MA and Anna Brown of Wilmington NC and her nephew, Chris Brown of Boulder CO. She also leaves behind three great-nieces, two great-nephews, one great- great-niece; and three great-great-nephews.
