Gertrude (Laflamme) Charest

Gertrude Rita (Laflamme) Charest, 93, of Wallingford Connecticut, formerly of Fall River, MA, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018, at home surrounded by her family and friends. Born on June 21, 1924, in Fall River, Gertrude was predeceased by her beloved husband of 68 years, Raymond E. Charest, her son, David Charest and her parents, Albert and Celena (Paquette) Laflamme.
Gertrude's love of Family, Home and Friends enriched all those who knew her and created generational bonds. She was the matriarch that kept the family together and the heart that was open to all. She was employed by the former New Method Laundry, Shelburne Shirt Co., Providence Pile Fabrics and Quaker Fabrics until the mid 1980's.

She leaves two sons, Denis A. Charest and his wife Karen of Wallingford and their children, Jennelyn Charest her husband Alvaro Zuniga - their children, Matias, Ethan and Owen; Brett Charest and Marissa Johnson; Jameson Charest and his wife Kristin - their children Evan, Bentley and Logan; her daughter-in-law, Ann Elizabeth "Betsy" Charest of Fall River and her and David's children, Justin Charest and his wife Meghan - their children Madison and Anderson; Jonathan Charest and his wife Allie - their children Marleigh and Colin; Daniel M. Charest and his wife Julia of New Hartford, CT, his children, Brendan Charest and his wife Amy - their children Xavier, Amelia, Miriam; Brigitte Charest and Chris Byrd; two brothers, Lucien "Jack" Laflamme and his wife Evelyn of Fall River and Roger Laflamme and his wife Marilyn of Port Charlotte, FL; and also leaves many beloved nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was the sister of the late Celestine Dube (Ernest), Caroline Charest (Benoit), Marguerite Trenholme (Herbert), Jeannette Charest (Henry) and Raymond Laflamme (Cecile).
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at Holy Trinity Church at 10:00 AM. Interment, Notre Dame Cemetery.
