Geraldine M. (O'Brien) Whitehouse

Geraldine M. (O'Brien) Whitehouse, RN, 76, of Somerset, formerly of Scituate, died peacefully Monday, August 25, 2014 after a period of failing health. She was Head Nurse at the Harvard University Stillman Infirmary and Emergence Care Clinic for many years and had practiced in many acute level nursing environments. A musician, self taught pianist and Golden Poet Award recipient, she loved being a mom and nurse most of all and family was everything to her. She leaves five children, Lisa Miller (late husband Forrest) and Ralph B. Whitehouse, both of Wareham, Robert Whitehouse of Somerset, Brian P. Whitehouse (wife Catherine M.) of Medway and Daniel J. Whitehouse of New Ipswich, NH; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, John O'Brien of Florida, Neil O'Brien of Worcester and Martha Rodgers of Auburn; and many nieces and nephews. She was the former wife of the late Robert A. Whitehouse; the daughter of the late John J. and Martha (Mullaney) O'Brien; and the sister of the late Virginia J. and Kevin O'Brien. Following cremation, her funeral mass will be held Saturday, September 6 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent St., Scituate Harbor, MA.
