Gerald F. Reis

Gerald F. Reis, 70, of Fall River, formerly of Westport, an advertising salesperson for the Fall River Herald News and the Somerset Spectator for many years, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017.

A member of the Kiwanis Club of Fall River since 1986, he was past president, presently vice president and weekly bulletin editor. He was the recipient of the 2015 Bulletin Editor Award in the New England and Bermuda District of Kiwanis.

Jerry loved to drive. He would think nothing of traveling to New York for the day and having a "slice" and a cup of coffee. He also enjoyed day trips to Provincetown.

He leaves two children, Carla Johnson of West Warwick, RI and Kathleen Reis of Somerset; a grandson, Austin Gill; a brother, Thomas Reis of Somerset and his beloved companion, Jeannie MacLaughlin of East Providence. He was the son of the late Thomas and Sarah (Dion) Reis.

Visitation at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, Friday, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with a funeral service at 6:00 PM. Large parking area & barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kiwanis Club of Fall River, PO Box 9412, Fall River MA 02720.
