Gerald R. Carpenter

Gerald R. Carpenter, 67, of Fall River, husband of Denise M, (Lapointe) Carpenter, and son of the late Rheo and Orize (Rioux) Carpenter, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, June 11, 2014. An electrician and former manager for Broadway Electric, he was a graduate of Southeastern Massachusetts University, Class of 1972. He was a 30 year member and former director of the Battleship Cove Emergency CB Club, his handle being "J-Rod" and a volunteer of the Fall River and Swansea Civil Defense units. Besides his wife of 43 years, he leaves 2 sons, Michael G. Carpenter and his wife Carolyn of Plymouth and Kevin M. Carpenter of Fall River; grandchildren, Henry and Nora Carpenter and aunts, uncles and cousins. His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at Holy Ghost Church, Tiverton, at 10:00 AM. Burial private. Visitation, Saturday morning prior to the funeral from 8:00 to 9:00 AM.
