Georgette (Vanasse) Tetreault,89, of Fall River, a beloved matriarch and wife of the late Normand E. Tetreault,Sr. passed away Friday, September 27, 2024 at home with her family by her side. She left behind a legacy of love, resilience, and an enduring passion for giving. Her unwavering spirit and warm heart touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Born a natural talent for creating, Georgette dedicated much of her life to culinary artistry. She spent many fulfilling years working for the City of Fall River Public Schools Department, where she served as a cafeteria worker and head baker until her retirement there. Her delicious creations brought joy to countless students. Prior to that, she was a seamstress at Howard Manufacturing.

Georgette’s kitchen was a haven of laughter and delicious aromas, where she loved to cook and bake with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Each moment spent there was infused with love, imparting not just recipes but also treasured memories that her family will cherish forever. Her passion for cooking was matched only by her love for family; the time spent together created bonds that transcended generations.

An avid bowler and bocce ball player, Georgette embraced life with a competitive spirit and a joyous laughter that could light up the room. She was a leader in the Girl Scouts of America, instilling values of friendship, courage, and community in young girls, guiding them to become the best versions of themselves. Music was another passion that filled her life with rhythm, and she often found solace in song, sharing her favorite melodies with loved ones.

She leaves 8 children, Denise Tavares (late husband Arthur), Normand E. Tetreault, Jr. (wife Janice), Raymond Tetreault (companion Suzanne), and Jeannine Skeffington (husband Philip), Richard Tetreault (wife Mhay), Suzanne Sylvia (husband Donald), Russell Tetreault (wife Nadine) and Nicole King; a sister, Claudette Petit (late husband Raymond), 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was the daughter of the late Leo and Bernice (Chabot) Vanasse and the sister of the late Constance Sicard (late husband Robert), Ronald “Pete” Vanasse (late wife Barbara) and Theresa Stockwell (late husband Burton)

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 3, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River,

Her funeral will be held Friday, October 4 at 9:00 AM from the funeral home with a Funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Church, Stafford Rd. Fall River at 10:00 AM. Burial, Newport Memorial Park, Middletown, RI.

She will be deeply missed but will forever hold a cherished place in the hearts of those she loved.
