Georgette (Berube) Chouinard

Georgette (Berube) Chouinard, 86, of Somerset, formerly of County St., Fall River, widow of Raymond G. Chouinard, died unexpectedly, Sunday, November 1, 2009. Mrs. Chouinard and her late husband operated the former Chouinard Funeral Home. A celebrated violinist, and graduate of New England Conservatory of Music, she taught at Fernald State School, Waverly, MA and was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota. She was active in the Fall River Senior and Junior Music Clubs and was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne Sodality of Notre Dame Parish and past-president of the Exchangettes. She leaves 3 children, Nicole Chouinard of Port Charlotte, FL, Claude Chouinard and his wife Elizabeth of Dartmouth, MA and Margo Gizzi and her husband David of Westport, MA; 3 grandchildren, Kristin and Karin Gizzi and Harrison Chouinard; 3 step-grandchildren, Heather, Sarah and Matthew Lecuyer and nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Fridoland "Fred" and Alberta "Bertha" (Picard) Berube. Her funeral will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Notre Dame Church at 11:00 AM. Entombment, Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation, Wednesday 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
