George Pereira

George Pereira, 53, of Fall River, died Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at home. Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of Aldora (DaSilva) Pereira of Fall River and the late Manuel Pereira Goncalves. A graduate of Durfee High School Class of 1979, he was an avid reader. He served in the Navy for many years and was a drummer for several bands including Euro and The Sailors. Besides his mother, he leaves a daughter, Hannah Pereira of Fall River, four siblings, Victor M. Pereira (wife Elizabeth) of Fall River, Louis A. Pereira (wife Mary) of Fall River, Edward Pereira (wife Kimberly) of Lincoln, RI and Stacy Pereira of Fall River; many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Margaret Benjamin. A funeral mass of will be held Friday, September 4, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Bedford St. Fall River. Burial with full military honors to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Prospect St. Fall River. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Boys and Girls Club of Fall River, P.O.
