George E. Pelletier, 81, of Cook St., Fall River, the founder of National Glass Co., died Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at Saint Anne's Hospital. He was the husband of Doris (Roy) Pelletier. A lifelong resident of Fall River, he was the son of the late Leon and Catherine (Michaud) Pelletier. In 1947 he founded National Glass Co., a business he owned and operated for 42 years, retiring in 1989. He was an Honorable Lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Council # 86, a founding member of St. Anne Fraternity and a member of the Glass Association and the Over the Hill Gang. He was active in political circles and was a former member of the Royal Travelers. Besides his wife of 59 years, survivors include a sister, Doris Bento and her husband Leo of Fall River; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Charette; and nieces and nephews including Claire D. Carreiro and Raymond M. Pelletier. He was the brother of the late Raymond L. Pelletier. His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Anne Church at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Friday 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
